ART facilitates intensive 3-day civic leadership training seminars at college campus all across Maine four times a year. Each seminar teaches trainees how to run successful grassroots campaigns and also encourages them to affect positive community change through volunteering.Why We Do It
Very few people become leaders without mentors. Young people want to make a difference, but sometimes they don’t know where or how to start. ART gives Maine’s young people the tools and the network to be successful while continuing to politically engage them into the future.About the Training
The seminar’s raining topics include electoral targeting, message development and media training, the effective field plan, volunteer recruitment, creative political mail, and creating a needs-based campaign budget and timeline. Click Here for a sample weekend curriculim with faciltators.The education consists of an intensive three-day training seminar in which participants learn every aspect of the inner workings of a successful grassroots campaign in Maine. Seminars are team-based, interactive and fun. Class also provides students with an opportunity to meet and network with the major political players in the state and work as a team with other civically minded people from all walks of life and from all corners of the political spectrum.
